Retired Judge Terrence Carroll brings a wealth of experience to assisting parties in finding a fair and mutually acceptable resolution of disputes without pursuing costly and adversarial litigation. He has conducted more than 2500 mediations and 500 arbitrations and is considered among the best Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) providers in the Pacific Northwest. His emphasis has been on business transactions, probate and property disputes. Prior to his ADR career, he served as a King County Superior Court judge where he conducted several hundred settlement conferences in addition to being given the highest overall rating among judges by lawyers prior to his retirement. He was later honored as a Distinguished Jurist in Residence at the Seattle University Law School where he taught courses on negotiation and the Police, Law and the Community.
In addition to his public service and ADR career, Judge Carroll has served his community as a member of numerous and varied boards and commissions, including the Board of Regents of Seattle University (Emeritus), the Public Facilities Board (PFD) during the building and oversight of Safeco (now T-Mobile) Field, the Downtown Emergency Services Center, the Museum of Northwest Art, and the Swinomish Tribal Utility Board, among others. His work has involved him in issues surrounding police accountability, juvenile justice and Catholic Church reform and transparency.
